Clever Pumpkin Carving Ideas Corpse Bride Pumpkin Painting
Happy spooky season! Pumpkin carving is the best Halloween activity to show off your crafting skills and get your hands a little dirty (plus, it gives you an excuse to whip up a ton of delicious pumpkin pie recipes). If you are tired of the classic toothy smile and triangle nose design, Don’t worry, there are plenty of creative options to boost your creativity. From pumpkins that appear to be eating other small pumpkins, to designs inspired by your favorite movies, Harry Potter and Star Wars, there’s sure to be a pumpkin on this list that catches your eye. And if that all seems too complex for your knife skills, skip carving altogether and try one of these painted pumpkin ideas.
Impaled Fence Pumpkins
It has a row of carved pumpkins impaled on the fence. Use a hammer to smash overripe pumpkins or knock them to the ground, but be careful not to break them completely! This row of bars with carved pumpkins with impaled faces is sure to scare anyone who walks past your home.
Scared Pumpkin Carving
Not all carved pumpkins have to be scary or happy; they can be spooky too! When you have themed plates to match, a spiky pumpkin can make a great centerpiece or party plate. This one looks like he saw a ghost-like prickly gourd and thorn gourd.
Baby Yoda Pumpkin
You can make sure that Baby Yoda has been an inspiration for everything from pet Halloween costumes to Echo Dot mounts, so why not let the beloved character take centre stage on your pumpkin? Use this digital pattern on Etsy to get it right.
Instagram Pumpkin
This pumpkin is Instagram-worthy. Cut out bats around the social media app logo and stick an orange tobacco canister inside for a spooky effect for a homemade pumpkin or carved pumpkin with a haunted house.
Although this pumpkin carving is supposed to be a haunted house, you can easily minimize its spooky vibes by removing the bats and adding some flowers around the house to create a beautiful and magical cottage scene.
Pumpkin Eyeball
What’s scarier than a single detailed eye? Make it look like something is always watching your front yard with this eyeball pumpkin. Bonus: add another pumpkin next to it with really sharp teeth to enhance the creepiness.
Vomiting Pumpkin
Use your pumpkin’s guts this year by exposing them, so it looks like it’s spewing out its guts.
Pumpkin with Exposed Brain
Another creepy take: a pumpkin with an exposed brain made from a smaller white pumpkin.
Wide Eyed Pumpkin
Cut googly eyes into your pumpkin, add a tongue, and you’ll have a silly display in no time. Kids will love this fun!
Besides, when it comes to decorating pumpkins, there are often two different camps. Some like to carve a pumpkin, and those want to keep the pumpkin intact when decorating. I like both options. A carved pumpkin lit from within looks amazing on an October night, but if you leave it whole, you can get creative with decorating, like this corpse bride pumpkin my mom made.
This kind of pumpkin design uses a white pumpkin or gourd to give the bride her ghostly colouring. Pick up a few extra supplies from the Craft Shop, and you’ll be ready to craft your own!
