Camarena Health Introduction
Camarena Health is a community health care provider serving families and communities in Madera, Chowchilla and Oakhurst with comprehensive care for every person. Besides, our patient-centred philosophy underpins the high-quality level of care we are committed to providing our patients, regardless of their background or situation.
- Camarena Health chose to become an educational health centre because we saw a real need in our community.
- The Central Valley is currently experiencing a severe shortage of healthcare professionals. Seeking solutions to this problem, we decided to reach out to teach, inspire, and retain the next generation of healthcare professionals, passing on our medical knowledge and love of Madera County.
- However, solving provider shortages is not the only reason we have become an educational health centre. We also did this because our staff loves to teach:
- Since 2016, we have partnered with A.T. Still University to place Physician Assistant students at Camarena Health Centers during their clinical residencies.
- These residencies provide a year of intensive, hands-on clinical learning, preparing students for their future profession. So, Students rotate through Camarena Health’s many outpatient specialities and attend hands-on workshops led by dedicated Camarena Health preceptors.
Camarena Health Associations
We are looking for like-minded organizations to train the next generation of healthcare providers.
Therefore, through our health education program and our partnerships, we have created a thriving collaborative organization where new students are still learning, and our experienced staff are still teaching.
We know that rural communities like ours face unique challenges in recruiting and retaining a quality healthcare workforce. And also, by encouraging the providers of tomorrow to learn their trade at Camarena Health, we increase the chances that they will put down roots here and thrive in our community.
